Minimum Qualifications:
High school. Five years of experience in waste operations experience are required. Must obtain Transfer Station Operator certification from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) during the probationary period. Must possess a valid CDL Class-A Driver’s License.
Recruitment Notes:
This position is assigned to the Transfer Division of the Department of Solid Waste Management. The incumbent provides operational oversight for daily operations at the transfer station ensuring efficient and effective waste processing and transfer activities. The Transfer Station Superintendent will ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations promoting and enforcing safety standards to protect employees and visitors. Familiarity with transfer station operations is highly beneficial. This position requires the incumbent to make decisions under pressure and resolve conflicts effectively, interacts regularly with regulatory agents and the public, and identify operational issues and implement effective solutions. Additionally, this position oversees the maintenance and utilization of equipment and resources ensuring the facility is adequately equipped and maintained.
Salary: Min: $ 65,863.37 – Max: $ 115,570.31
