Minimum Qualifications:
Eighth grade. One year experience in the repair, maintenance, and/or operation of pumping systems, diesel engines, generators, or leachate is required. Must obtain a Landfill Operators Certificate prior to the completion of the probationary period. Must possess a valid Driver s License.
Recruitment Notes:
The Department of Solid Waste Management is seeking a Landfills Systems Mechanic for the South Dade Landfill, located at 23707 SW 97th Avenue, Homestead, FL 33032. This position is essential to the maintenance and operation of critical landfill systems. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for maintaining and repairing mechanical systems related to odor, dust, litter control, gas recovery and leachate control systems.
The incumbent in this position will be eligible to receive an additional $300.00 in biweekly incentive pay.
