SWANA’s Kristyn Oldendorf Honored as a 2025 Waste360 40 Under 40 Award Recipient
The awards recognize trailblazers in the waste, recycling and organics industries.
Silver Spring, MD – SWANA is proud to announce that Kristyn Oldendorf, Senior Director of Public Policy & Communications, has been named to Waste360’s prestigious 2025 40 Under 40 awards list. This honor recognizes dynamic young leaders who are driving innovation and shaping the future of the waste, recycling and organics industry.

In her role at SWANA, Oldendorf leads public policy and communications and she supports members in building resources, such as developing the SWANA Lithium-Ion Battery Workgroup. She was also appointed in December to represent SWANA on the Environmental Technologies Trade Advisory Committee (ETTAC), where she advises the US Department of Commerce on policy matters. Oldendorf has shown her dedication to the waste and resource industry through proactive outreach and a commitment to providing SWANA members with opportunities to contribute to the evolving landscape of the industry.

The Waste360 40 Under 40 awards program highlights professionals under the age of 40 who have made significant contributions to the waste, recycling, and organics industry. The honorees represent a diverse range of roles, including haulers, municipalities, composters, recyclers, policymakers and product suppliers. Finalists and winners were selected by a panel of expert judges from Waste360, with input from external advisors. The 2025 award recipients will be celebrated during an awards ceremony in Las Vegas on May 6, 2025, at WasteExpo.
