SWANA’s New Spring Technical Conference Postponed
SOAR will take place March 21–24, 2022 in Kansas City, Missouri
Silver Spring, MD – The Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) has cancelled SOAR, which was scheduled to take place in Kansas City, MO on June 14–17, 2021. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and concerns about the health and safety of participants, SWANA recognizes it is still too soon to gather safely for a large industry event such as SOAR. SWANA’s new premier spring technical conference for local governments and the solid waste and recycling industry will take place in Kansas City, Missouri on March 21–24, 2022.
“This has been a difficult year. Though we are very much looking forward to getting our membership together, the health and safety of our members are paramount,” said Brenda Haney, SWANA President and the Solid Waste Director for the City of Lubbock, TX. “We will gather virtually through several upcoming summits and begin preparing for the next time we can all be together.”
In June 2021, SWANA will host two virtual events to keep participants informed about the latest industry trends and technical developments and provide certification holders the opportunity to earn SWANA CEUs. The first will be the Virtual Sustainable Materials Management Summit on June 15, 2021. The second will be the Virtual Landfill Challenges Summit on June 17, 2021. Both events are planned for 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. EDT and will include a networking event after the sessions are completed.
SWANA credits may also be used to register for the virtual events. For questions, please email at [email protected].
Registration for the summits is free to editors, reporters, and freelance journalists with valid press credentials, and bloggers on a case-by-case basis. To register as a member of the press, please email [email protected]. SWANA will help connect you with the speaker you are interested interviewing.
